What is it like to live with a genius as a spouse or friend?

As a girlfriend..

I can't generalize it because I have only dated this guy and so I don't know about other geniuses!

He is a GEEK and is proud of being one. So late in the night instead of texting typical I love you... He will ask what is 2*3*3*547*571*....
and when you say that you dunno he will tell you that he has done a prime factorization of your mobile number at like 3 am in the night!

Also at midnight when most of the people in love talk about romantic and sexy stuff.. He has sung Bangladesh national anthem for me and talked about the great Rabindranath Tagore who has composed three national anthems!

He is very down to earth and considers me equally intelligent! (Which obviously isn't true.) But despite the fact that I am a structural engineer he might know concepts about structural engineering which I would have never heard of! Also he earns nearly 10 times of what I earn. But he doesn't belittle my achievements.

I have been on the receiving end of some scolding and a look of utter surprise for not knowing what the Ramanujan number is!

Even after years there are some of his achievements which were still unknown to me. Be it winning some national level competition or about him knowing some 10 different languages. I discovered some while casually browsing his laptop and reading his resume!

He has ZERO dressing sense. I have to be ready to be seen in public with someone who has oiled his hair and at times worn black trousers with black tee or a formal shirt with cargos.

No sense of cleanliness. Also he doesn't mind cats, dogs, monkeys, spiders, lizards living with him in his hostel room. :P

People sometimes consider him as an idiot for having selecting such a dumb girlfriend!

Even after years I haven't received any gift because he feels such trivial things are a waste of time! :D

I can be carefree when I go out anywhere with him. He has a habit of reading and remembering items on menu list with prices in restaurants. He reads all the boards on roads, so if I want to go to some xyz park he will remember that the park opens at 4 pm and hence take me there after 4 pm.

One incident:
Stranger: Where is Kamladevi Hospital?
Him: There in that small lane.
Me: Isn't that Mittal Hospital?
Him: It is popularly known as Mittal Hospital but I know that it is Kamaladevi Gauridas Mittal Hospital! :D :D

Meanwhile...
Me: Which is your favourite colour?
Him: I don't have any.
Me: How can one not have a favourite color! Which colour do you like more than others?
Him: I find all colours equal.
(This went on for more than an hour)
Him: OK, I lose. Can you give me some options.
Me: Orange, Red, Blue.
After 2 mins
Him: Orange it is.
ME: How did you choose orange?
Him: I won't tell you.
(After some argument)
Me: Tell me fast before one of us dies.
Him: I used random number generation theory... (With a big explanation.)

EDIT 2:
A few people here feel that it would be very difficult for me to adjust with a geek and some of them also feel sorry for me because he doesn't get me gifts and all. While initially it was very difficult for me, over the time we are becoming like each other. He has composed a few poems and gifted them to me. So we have stopped exchanging material gifts and we exchange geeky stuff. For example: 
This is a birthday card that I made for him :)

And someone mentioned about dressing sense in the comments. He is free to wear whatever clothes he wishes to wear. When with me he need not worry about his looks. What's the point in being committed if even after years, I  judge him by his clothes!

1) Devil’s Pool, Victoria Falls, Zambia
Usually in dry season, a rock barrier at the edge of the falls forms a natural "Armchair". Swimmers can go near the edge of the falls and enjoy the swim as well as the mesmerizing view. Its on the Zambian side.

3) Cliff Diving, Islet of Vila Franca do Campo, Portugal
The cliff diver you see in the photo is Blake Aldridge who is diving 29 meters from a rock in Portugal in 2012. 

You go through absolute hell on the platform,’ Blake Aldridge says. ‘Then you take off and go through this amazing calming sensation where you feel like you’re flying. You go through hell again when you hit the water, then you’re numb, then you come up and it’s total elation.’ This is how Red Bull cliff diver Aldridge describes the experience of leaping off a platform 28m high.

4) The Edgewalk, CN Tower, Toronto, Canada
Its one hell of a trip for thrill lovers to walk on the edge of one of the world's tallest building. Its one of the extreme attraction for adventurous people who want to push their personal limits.

5) Bike riding on the Cliffs of Moher
The bike riding at this height and at this edgy steep cliff looks really terrifying and needs a lot of guts to do it. Scary as it looks in the photo. Balance must be the key here.

6) Insanity, Las Vegas
Gravity defying spin upside down. Imagine the rest.

7) Sky Deck, Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower), Chicago
Located above 1,353 feet off the ground, on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower, Sky Deck allows tourists to stand on the glass ledge. Standing in the mid air? I can imagine and hear the pumping of my heart and scary view of Chicago underneath the legs.

8) Sky walking on Mount Nimbus, Canada
Also called heli-hiking by some, one can only reach there by helicopter. It is  clipped into iron rungs very high above the ground, onto steel rope across a long suspension bridge. The climbers are given two lines attached to a harness around the waist and legs.

9) Portaledge Camping at Yosemite
For the adrenaline lovers, this is extremely breathtaking and scary at the same time. Can't imagine to be so calm like the lady and look below like the guy in the photo. I wonder how that portaledge bedding system works by  holding so much of load. Scariest on the list!

10) Swing at the edge of the world, Baños Ecuador
The swing actually hangs from Casa Del Arbol treehouse, which is a seismic monitoring station. Long steep drop underneath and definitely you may feel your head spinning from the view underneath. But definitely worth extreme adrenaline rush!

What are some short stories where you don't know whether to laugh or cry?

Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey.

She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could, so she dictated these words:

"Dear God,

Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.

I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her, You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.

Love, Meredith."

We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith, and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it.
Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office.
A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.
Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, "To Meredith" in an unfamiliar hand writing. Meredith opened it.
Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, "When a Pet Dies". Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope.
On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:

"Dear Meredith,

Abbey arrived safely in heaven.

Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.  Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart.
Abbey loved being your dog.

Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.

Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.

I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much.
By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love.

How can I make my life simpler?

     Delete Facebook, Instagram etc. You don't really need to know "Who is doing what" or "Who is eating what with whom."

• Don't over think and over analyze. You miss someone? Say a "hi". You want something? Ask. You don't like something? Tell.
• Avoid attachments. Root cause of unhappiness is undue attachments.
• Eat right, get some exercise. Health is very very important. Never say "I am too busy". Your extra investment of yourself in your job is nothing if you are unhealthy. Besides, Medical bills isn't cheap now a days.
• Adapt to change. Don't be a stuck up! Often the only people who survive and win  in the world are people who adapt to the change and not fight off the change.
• Stay away from negative people.
• Mind your own business! What other people do is none of your business.
• Walk away when angry. Avoid speaking or reacting in that situation. Just shut up and walk away and get some fresh air. Egg on it. And then come back and deal with the situation.

Is it true that airplanes cannot fly over the Bermuda triangle?

The Bermuda Triangle is generally defined as the area between Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Miami.  There is an interesting service today called Flight Aware.  You can access a map of all flights anywhere in the world at any given time. 

Below is a picture of the map with the Bermuda Triangle drawn on it in red. At this moment there appear to be about 20 commercial flights in the triangle. There are many flights that cross the triangle every day. So, yes planes can and do fly in the triangle.
